The allure of evolutionary psychology is that it organizes all behavior into one eternal theory, impervious to the serendipity of time and place. But there’s no escaping context. That’s worth remembering next time somebody tells you we are hardwired to do this or that.
Your DNA, believe it or not, works in the same way as you rmind. It is a living-breathing sequence of nucleotides that often change, learn and adapt to your environments as you age. The DNA sequence you had when you were 10 is not the same sequence you’ll have when you’re 30 or 50. Think of the medical applications or who wants wings? I know I do.
